Police will provide security in the capital of Ugra during the World Chess Cup

According to the information from the Press Office of the Department of Internal Affairs of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug — Ugra, in order to provide security to the inhabitants and guests of Khanty-Mansiysk it is planned to involve the personnel of the Internal Affairs Ministry Department of the Russian Federation in Ugra as well as the staff of «Khanty-Mansiysky». The policemen will control the traffic and will be on guard in the venue and hotels where the participants and guests will be accommodated as well as they will be on duty in the most frequented places of the city. Besides, during the entire period of the event the city will be secured by the guard patrol.

During the preparation for the World Cup policemen in collaboration with other departments have examined the residential part in the close proximity of the event’s venues. The personnel of the Internal Affairs Department have checked the behavior and way of life of those particular persons who are registered in the prophylactic files. Besides, they have conducted the research of the objects to provide antiterrorist security.

The permits regime for light and heavy vehicles entering Khanty-Mansiysk will become stricter. The automatic system of the traffic management functioning in the Ugorian capital includes traffic lights spots and 30 video cameras.

The law enforcement of the region is addressing citizens not to forget about self-security measures, i.e. to be more attentive in the places with a lot of people and not to leave personal belongings. «In case if you become a victim of a crime or offence or find any suspicious objects, you are requested to address the police right away », — as emphasized in the Press Service of Ugra Internal Affairs Department.
