KHANTY-MANSIYSK IS ONE OF THE MOST SOPHISTICATED CHESS CENTERS

The technical director of the World Chess Federation Vladimir Kukaev gave his estimation on the technical situation in the Ugorian Chess Academy that became the venue of the World Chess Cup in Khanty-Mansiysk this year.

Kukaev said that all electronic chess boards are connected between each other in one network. The boards themselves are sensor devices that read the information and send it to the main computer from where the signal goes to the TV reading stand and other technical services. Vladimir Kukaev also noted that this system has been already applied from the first World Cup in 2005.

«The World Cup is held with the help of the most up-to-date equipment that is the most sophisticated that exist in the chess world today. Khanty-Mansiysk deserves its right to be named as standard of comparison among all chess centers where it is a great pleasure to work for me personally», — declared FIDE Technical Director.
