The Grandmaster from Denmark Peter-Heine Nielsen playing White defeated the Grandmaster from Azerbaijan Vugar Gashimov and now the sportsmen will continue their battle in the tie-breaks.
Some words were devoted to the development of the match by the hero at the press conference.
— Peter, you look very tired now. Tell us about the flow of the game. How hard was it for you? — This is the way a man who has just made 113 moves should look! I needed a victory and I tried to do my utmost in order to achieve it.
— I doubt that you will manage to get some rest in the evening. You must have something to analyze and prepare for tie-breaks? — Thank you for reminding me about that! (laughing) Yes, however, the preparation for tie-breaks can be relaxing as well.
— Peter, congratulations on your victory and good luck at the chess board!
