French grandmaster Etienne Bacrot told the journalists about his tie-break victory over Anton Filippov from Uzbekistan.

 — I lost the first game, although could draw it easily. In the second game I had White and obtained a big advantage. I also had more time on the clock, but started to make mistakes after the 35th move, and had absolutely no advantage after the 40th move. I got really lucky that my opponent began to blunder later on. Today I had more chances and my victory is not surprising.

— Do you agree that one has to get lucky in order to succeed at the World Cup? — Yes. Every match is very tense, and when you face another strong player, you need to get a lot luckier to win! I was quite lucky today, too.

— Who is your opponent in the next round?  — Radjabov.

— Do you expect another tough match? — Yes. From now on the further you advance, the tougher it gets.
